Full Job Description
Corporate Director of Information Technology to serve as the operational backbone of our enterprise technology infrastructure - owning network and infrastructure monitoring across the portfolio, leading server management and platform operations, and driving the end-to-end technology lifecycle for new property openings, acquisitions and transitions.

Position OverviewThis role is a hands-on leadership position that sits between corporate strategy and property-level execution. The right candidate brings structured project management discipline, deep technical fluency in hospitality infrastructure, and the ability to represent IT with confidence in front of ownership groups, brand partners, and cross-functional leadership. This is not a remote-first role - significant property travel is expected, particularly during pre-opening and transition periods.

Essential Responsibilities

Network & Infrastructure Monitoring

  • Own 24x7 monitoring and health management for network infrastructure across all portfolio properties, including managed switches, Wi-Fi access points, UPS systems, controllers, EOS gateways, and captive portal systems
  • Serve as the internal escalation point for network incidents; maintain defined P1-P5 response SLAs and ensure accountability across the IT team and any retained managed service partners
  • Manage firmware patching cadence, security configuration updates, and device lifecycle tracking against the Proper Technology Standards Framework (TSF)
  • Lead the transition of network and infrastructure monitoring from the current MSP model to an in-house platform, including toolstack procurement, parallel operation, and cutover sequencing across 11 properties
  • Maintain network documentation, asset inventories, and rack elevation records for all MDFs and IDFs across the portfolio; enforce cabling and infrastructure standards (Cat6A, Wi-Fi 6+, Fortinet FortiGate, Aruba APs)
  • Oversee ISP relationships and ensure primary/secondary circuit redundancy with minimum 1GB failover at each property per TSF requirements

Server Management & Platform Operations

  • Manage and monitor all on-property and cloud-hosted server infrastructure, including physical servers, hypervisors, and virtual machines; maintain uptime, patching compliance, and performance baselines
  • Own Windows Server patching policy creation, deployment, and compliance reporting across the portfolio; ensure OS lifecycle adherence to the 3-year server refresh standard
  • Oversee RMM platform operations - asset discovery, remote control, systems management, alerting - and drive consistency in monitoring templates and alerting thresholds across all properties
  • Manage server warranty tracking, hardware refresh planning, and vendor escalations for warranty and replacement decisions
  • Partner with the data engineering and AI platform team on infrastructure requirements for ProperOS and Snowflake-based workloads; ensure server environments supporting enterprise platforms meet availability and performance SLAs
  • Administer and support PMS-integrated server environments (Infor HMS cloud), POS infrastructure (Toast), and other property technology systems as required

Hotel Openings, Acquisitions & Transitions

  • Lead the end-to-end IT pre-opening workstream for new Proper properties from deal close through opening day, coordinating across ownership, construction, brand, and operations stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain the Proper pre-opening IT checklist and readiness assessment framework; provide Corporate IT sign-off as required under the TSF - no property opens without this approval
  • Manage technology due diligence for hotel acquisitions, including infrastructure assessment, systems compatibility review, PMS transition planning, and flag-brand technical compliance (e.g., Marriott/MARSHA standards for affiliated properties)
  • Oversee MSP and vendor contract transitions at acquired or transitioning properties, including credential recovery, device onboarding, and service continuity planning
  • Commission and validate post-opening network optimization and Wi-Fi heat map assessments; ensure coverage and performance meet luxury guest experience standards before soft and hard opening milestones
  • Coordinate rack installation, cabling, MDF buildout, and on-property tech stack deployment with field technicians, construction teams, and AV vendors

Project Management & Governance

  • Apply structured project management methodology (PMP or equivalent) to all IT initiatives - pre-openings, infrastructure migrations, platform implementations, and vendor transitions - with documented charters, WBS, risk registers, and stakeholder communications
  • Manage change control processes for all network and infrastructure changes; ensure changes are presented through the Change Advisory Board process with internal property approvals before execution
  • Maintain the Proper vendor relationship for the Edge MSP contract restructure - coordinating scope reductions at voice-retained properties and full terminations at monitoring-only properties on a phased timeline through EOY 2026
  • Track and report on IT capital and operating budgets for infrastructure and monitoring functions; provide monthly status reporting to the SVP of IT & Security
  • Contribute to the annual technology lifecycle capital plan, including network refresh, server replacement, and guest-facing hardware (TVs, thermostats, door locks) aligned to TSF lifecycle standards

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Enforce NIST-aligned security standards and PCI DSS 4.2 compliance requirements at the property infrastructure level, including guest/staff VLAN separation, annual vulnerability scanning, and endpoint protection deployment
  • Manage endpoint protection platform operations across the portfolio, ensuring EDR agents are deployed, current, and reporting; serve as the primary responder for endpoint-originated security events
  • Coordinate with the SVP of IT & Security on firewall management, security event correlation, and incident response for infrastructure-layer events.
  • Support cyber insurance documentation requirements and participate in tabletop exercises and penetration testing coordination (Rapid7 or equivalent)

Team Leadership & Property Support

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to Area IT Managers and on-property IT staff; serve as the primary escalation path above the property level for infrastructure and network issues
  • Build and maintain the internal NOC capability as the team transitions from MSP-dependent monitoring to an in-house operations model - including runbook development, alerting standards, and on-call rotation design
  • Mentor IT team members on infrastructure best practices, documentation standards, and career development; support performance management in partnership with the SVP of IT & Security
  • Travel to properties as needed, with an expectation of approximately 30-40% travel, increasing during active pre-opening or transition periods

Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years of progressive IT infrastructure and operations experience, with at least 3 years in a multi-property hospitality environment at the corporate or regional level
  • Demonstrated experience leading hotel pre-openings, acquisitions, or technology transitions from initial planning through opening day
  • Deep technical proficiency in network infrastructure: managed switching, Wi-Fi (Aruba preferred), firewall administration (Fortinet preferred), UPS systems, and structured cabling
  • Hands-on server management experience: Windows Server administration, hypervisor management (VMware or Hyper-V), RMM platforms (ConnectWise Automate, NinjaRMM, Datto, or equivalent), and patching compliance tools
  • Proven project management experience with the ability to manage multiple concurrent infrastructure projects across geographically distributed properties; PMP certification preferred
  • Familiarity with hospitality technology systems: PMS (Infor HMS strongly preferred), POS (Toast preferred), door lock systems, guest messaging platforms, and BMS integration
  • Working knowledge of PCI DSS compliance requirements at the property infrastructure level
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to ownership groups, brand partners, and senior leadership

Preferred

  • Experience with MSP contract management, including vendor transitions, scope restructures, and in-house capability builds
  • ITIL Foundation or practitioner certification; familiarity with change management and service desk frameworks in a hospitality context
  • Exposure to endpoint protection platforms (SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, or Microsoft Defender for Endpoint) and managed EDR operations
  • Experience with AI-adjacent infrastructure or data platform environments (Snowflake, cloud compute) in a hospitality or enterprise setting
  • Familiarity with Marriott brand technology standards (MARSHA, FOSSE, or Opera PMS compatibility) for affiliated or dual-branded properties
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Hospitality Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience considered

Salary

  • $145,000-$165,000 base salary
