DescriptionNorthrop Grumman has an open Corporate Counsel position to support business units in its Mission Systems Sector.
Responsibilities will include counseling on matters associated with the pursuit, capture, negotiation, execution and administration of U.S. Government and commercial prime contracts and subcontracts; advising and coordinating with various business and legal specialists inside the company on matters related to intellectual property, environmental, health, safety, real estate and property, human resources, internal investigations, supply chain, export/import compliance, litigation, and employment and labor relations.
This Corporate Counsel position will be located ideally in Linthicum, MD or possibly the Falls Church, VA or McLean, VA for the right candidate. Relocation assistance may be available.
Succeeding in this position requires excellent problem-solving skills, sound judgement, strong business acumen, discretion, the highest standards of integrity and ethics, the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with lawyers and business teams inside and outside of the company, and work in cross-functional teams.
This position may be filled at a higher level based on the qualifications below.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS CORPORATE COUNSEL:
Juris Doctorate and active state bar membership
At least of 10 years of relevant U.S. Government contracting experience
Ability to obtain, and maintain, a U.S. Government security clearance
U.S. Government and commercial contracting experience at a law firm, U.S. Government agency, and/or in-house legal department
Ability to analyze complex legal concepts and communicate effectively
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience supporting U.S. Government programs and/or complex commercial transactions as in-house counsel, plus law firm or Government agency experience
Experience supporting clients and interfacing with customers in the defense/intelligence communities
Expertise with FAR, DFAR, and other U.S. Government agencies’ rules and practices
Litigation and/or investigative experience
An active U.S. DoD security clearance at the Secret level or higher
Primary Level Salary Range: $222,700.00 - $335,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
