Full Job Description
Truist is seeking a transformational payments leader to lead the enterprise Core Payments organization responsible for the bank's ACH and Wire platforms. This highly visible executive role combines operational leadership of mission-critical payment infrastructure with responsibility for driving the long-term modernization of legacy payment capabilities that support a significant portion of the bank's money movement ecosystem. The successful leader will oversee a team of professionals and contractors, ensuring the stability, performance, resiliency, and risk management of critical payment platforms while simultaneously leading a complex, multi-year transformation of ACH and Wire architecture. This role requires a seasoned operator who can balance day-to-day execution with strategic modernization initiatives that will shape the future of payments at Truist. Working closely with senior technology, operations, risk, and business stakeholders, this leader will drive organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and knowledge transfer strategies while maintaining a relentless focus on operational excellence. The role demands executive presence, strong stakeholder influence skills, and the ability to lead through organizational change in a highly visible environment. Establishes and executes short to midterm operational plans and goals for a software engineering job area, translating strategies from senior leadership into coordinated execution across multiple teams led by mid to upperlevel managers. 2. Manages managers responsible for the design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions within the job area, ensuring outcomes meet agreed scope, quality, schedule, and cost targets. 3. Implements and refines technology standards, governance practices, and engineering methods within the job area, driving consistent quality, security, and compliance while adapting approaches to the needs of individual teams. 4. Recommends operational plans and improvement strategies to senior and executive leadership, providing insight from the job area to shape priorities, resourcing decisions, and sequencing of initiatives. 5. Develops and coaches technical leaders and managers in the job area, clarifying expectations, strengthening leadership capabilities, and building a collaborative, highperforming engineering culture. 6. Owns budget and resource planning for the job area, managing headcount, vendor spend, and investment tradeoffs to achieve targets and support delivery commitments. 7. Leads significant process and tooling improvements across the job area, using data and feedback to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and increase reliability of delivery. 8. Ensures effective risk management and regulatory compliance for software development and deployment within the job area, coordinating with partner teams and control functions to address issues. 9. Represents the job area in senior technology and business forums, communicating status, risks, and needs, and aligning teams to decisions and direction from senior management. 10. Drives adoption of organizational change and new technologies within the job area, influencing peer managers, removing local obstacles, and guiding teams through transition to new ways of working. Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in software development and executive technology leadership. 3. Broad management and leadership experience leading large, global software engineering organizations. 4. Expertise in technology strategy, enterprise architecture, and business transformation. Preferred Qualifications 1. Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline. 2. Executive certifications in technology leadership, management, or business strategy. The annual base salary for this position is $173,390 - 346,760. General Description of Available Benefits for Eligible Employees of Truist Financial Corporation: All regular teammates (not temporary or contingent workers) working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, though eligibility for specific benefits may be determined by the division of Truist offering the position. Truist offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, tax-preferred savings accounts, and a 401k plan to teammates. Teammates also receive no less than 10 days of vacation (prorated based on date of hire and by full-time or part-time status) during their first year of employment, along with 10 sick days (also prorated), and paid holidays.
