OverviewWe're Heartbeat, the marketing agency for Healthcare Challenger Brands. We partner with ambitious companies and bold clients who aim to push the category forward.
We're looking for a Copy Supervisor who can shape smart, compelling work for patients and caregivers navigating rare disease. You'll bring a sharp creative point of view, the ability to make complex science clear and meaningful, and a thoughtful ear for tone: knowing when to offer encouragement, when to be direct, and when to give a difficult reality room to breathe.
ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll DoAs Copy Supervisor, you'll lead copy development across one or more brand engagements, partnering with Creative, Medical, Strategy, Account, Editorial, and Client teams to create work that supports both the creative brief and the brand's marketing goals.
You'll become deeply fluent in the brands you support, including their clinical data, market research, audience insights, voice, and messaging. Your teams should look to you as a trusted source for copy, content, narrative consistency, and brand knowledge.
In this role, you'll:
- Lead long-form copy development for consumer healthcare brands
- Develop original copy for websites, digital experiences, interactive tools, campaigns, and other tactical work
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and MLR partners
- Present work clearly and respond thoughtfully to feedback from clients and review teams
- Annotate pieces and work directly with Editorial and Medical through the fact check process
- Write, reference, and annotate copy for medical, legal, and regulatory review
- Partner with Editorial to maintain consistency, accuracy, voice, and tone
- Guide copy decks and manuscripts from development through launch
- Collaborate with Medical Directors and other subject matter experts when needed
- Bring a strong understanding of interactive content, editorial flow, and digital capabilities
- Mentor junior writers and help them strengthen their craft
QualificationsWhat You'll BringYou have 6+ years of copywriting experience, with a strong foundation in pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing. You know how to balance creativity with accuracy, strategy, and regulatory realities.
You're someone who can:
- Write clear, engaging copy for a consumer audience
- Recognize strong creative ideas and help bring them to life
- Present and defend ideas to creative teams, internal partners, and clients
- Navigate healthcare marketing, including clinical content and MLR review
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines without losing sight of the work
- Solve creative problems with curiosity, confidence, and fresh thinking
- Excel at writing in different tones
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams from concept through launch
