JOB DESCRIPTION

As a first line of defense strategic partner within Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) Control Management, you will help shape the future of risk and control management.In this role, you will support the Governance, Strategy, Change, and Insights Executive Director (ED) by coordinating governance routines and committee processes that enable the business to proactively manage operational risk, maintain an effective control environment, and drive continuous improvement. 

Support AWM Control Management’s Governance, Strategy, Change, and Insights Executive Director by running governance routines and committee processes that help the business proactively manage operational risk and maintain a strong control environment. Coordinate cross-functional inputs and follow-ups, synthesize key risk/control themes and metrics into executive-ready materials, and drive continuous improvement and project delivery across AWM Controls priorities.

Job responsibilities:

  • Support governance and escalation protocols by maintaining AWM Business Control Committee (BCC) frameworks and routing potential escalations for review.
  • Run the committee operating cadence (agendas, logistics, presenter/SME coordination, and content intake).
  • Produce and manage meeting outputs by drafting and reviewing for accuracy and consistency meeting materials, capturing minutes, and tracking action items to closure across stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with sub-LOB control committees to collect updates, consolidate inputs, and surface key themes for AWM-level governance.
  • Support senior forum deliverables (e.g., leadership business reviews, Audit Committee-related materials) by gathering inputs and ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Partner across business, operations, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators, and technology/control functions to manage inputs and ensure timely follow-through.
  • Synthesize risk/control information and metrics (e.g., KRI/KPI-style data, trends, themes) to support messaging, prioritization, and committee decisioning.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline governance processes and reduce manual touchpoints.
  • Support business management reporting by tracking headcount movement and expenses versus budget (with Finance) and surfacing variances/opportunities.
  • Provide program/project management support for AWM Controls priorities by facilitating cross-Controls discussions, tracking milestones and progress metrics, and helping drive initiatives to completion.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, governance, compliance, or related fields.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills: ability to build relationships across business, operations, technology, audit, compliance, and risk partners; align on competing priorities and drive shared accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise updates and executive-ready materials.
  • Senior Management engagement (lead and support): experience preparing executive-ready materials and coordinating prep meetings (speakers/SMEs, key messages, run-of-show); able to lead select discussions and support senior leaders with content, logistics, follow-ups, and presentations as needed.
  • Critical thinking and analytical/problem-solving skills: ability to analyze routine to moderately complex data, identify key issues/patterns, and support fact-based decisions and escalations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment and shift priorities as needed.
  • Proactive and action-oriented mindset with strong follow-through.
  • Professional discretion and judgment when handling sensitive topics and materials.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) and SharePoint.

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: 

  • Project management experience: ability to lead deliverables through the full lifecycle (planning, execution, stakeholder coordination, and closure).
  • Background in Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) and/or Controls preferred.
  • Process optimization / reengineering mindset: challenges legacy ways of working; proposes practical workflow improvements to reduce errors/control gaps.
  • Technology and AI literacy: leverages analytics and emerging tools to support control objectives and propose solutions (with appropriate controls and governance).
  • Familiarity with data visualization / reporting tools (e.g., Tableau). Alteryx and/or Python skills a plus.
  • Familiarity with fiduciary regulatory requirements (e.g., ERISA, Conflicts of Interest, Part 9) is a plus.
