Job DescriptionDirect Hire100% on siteWe are seeking a Controls and Automation Engineer to join our Maintenance and Reliability team supporting large-scale industrial operations. The successful candidate will apply engineering principles to design, modify, and enhance automated systems, equipment, and processes that support safe, efficient production. This position combines hands-on technical work with cross-functional collaboration across operations, maintenance, and engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities- Design,implement, and maintain automated control systems with both automatic andmanual modes of operation.
- Developand integrate Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to improve operatorvisibility and system control.
- Establishand maintain factory information systems for real-time process monitoringand performance tracking.
- Providetechnical support for integrating standalone control elements intocentralized or networked systems.
- Collaboratewith maintenance and production teams to ensure equipment reliability,uptime, and safety.
- Troubleshootand optimize PLCs, drives, instrumentation, and industrial networkinfrastructure.
- Supportcommissioning and startup of new equipment, system upgrades, and capitalprojects.
- Maintainsystem documentation, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety,environmental, and quality standards.
RequirementsRequired Qualifications- Bachelor'sdegree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
- Minimumof 5 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering.
- Proficiencywith Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs, PowerFlex drives, and HMI platformssuch as PanelView, Wonderware, or Ignition.
- Experiencewith SCADA systems, industrial networking, and Windows/VMwareinfrastructure.
- Stronganalytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Abilityto work flexible hours based on project schedules or operational needs.
- Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills; proven ability to workeffectively in cross-functional environments.
Preferred Qualifications- Experiencewith CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Familiaritywith industrial safety regulations and equipment operation standards.
- Experiencesupporting material handling, ventilation, or heavy process systems inlarge-scale industrial environments.
Physical Requirements- Abilityto climb ladders and stairs, and to bend, kneel, or crawl as required.
- Abilityto lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Mustbe able to wear required PPE including steel-toe footwear, hard hat, andsafety glasses.
- Abilityto work safely in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditionsyear-round.
