  • Program peripheral devices and machine PLCs
  • Supervise machine debugging, power-up, and validation with teams
  • Set up and configure communication networks (Device Net, Ethernet, remote I/O)
  • Commission and validate systems at customer locations

Full Job Description
Controls Engineer in the Ann Arbor, MI area.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design of Electrical hardware circuits (AutoCAD Electrical)
  • Design of PLC Software programs and development HMI screens to customer specifications (Allen Bradley, Siemens)
  • Conduct the peripheral device programming and machine PLC programming
  • Supervise and coordinate and the machine debug, power up, and machine validation with mechanical build and electrical teams
  • Set up and configure communication networks but not limited to device net, Ethernet and remote I/O
  • Commission and validation systems at the customer's location

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years with Controls and Electrical design
  • Strong PLC programming experience-ideally with both Allen Bradley and Siemens software
  • Technical degree in an electrical related field preferred (Bachelor's preferred, but will consider other degrees and experience)
  • Experience working for a company building custom machinery for industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical, and electronics is preferred
  • Robot Programming or path teaching experience (FANUC)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior experience working with an ERP/MRP system and creating BOMs
  • Ability to travel to customer sites for commissioning and installs as needed (typically 20-30%)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong organizational skills
