Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5 years as a Controller in a private equity-backed firm.
• CPA with a bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or finance.
• Retail industry expertise, with knowledge of operational metrics and inventory management.
• Strong organization and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Preferred experience in public accounting, enhancing the financial acumen.
• Experience with accounting systems implementation or conversion is advantageous.
• Proven ability to interact effectively with all management levels and associates.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable and inventory management.
• Handle month-end GAAP closings and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze regular performance reports, making recommendations as necessary.
• Identify and implement efficiencies within accounting functions.
• Establish internal controls to reinforce the financial structure.
• Manage the annual budgeting process across departments, meeting all deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, researching necessary updates.
• Oversee the annual audit and tax preparation process with external auditors.
