Controller Consultant to join our Sacramento team. This is a hands-on role for an accounting leader who can quickly step into client environments, strengthen financial operations, and provide Controller-level leadership.
Construction accounting experience is required, with strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, project accounting, and revenue recognition. Experience across additional industries is highly valued.
What You'll Do- Serve as a Controller-level resource for multiple clients
- Lead month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger activities
- Manage construction accounting, including job costing, WIP, project profitability, and revenue recognition
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial analysis
- Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting
- Partner directly with owners, executives, and operational leaders
- Support ERP implementations and system/process improvements
- Stay hands-on in the accounting while providing strategic financial guidance
What We're Looking For- Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar leadership experience
- Construction accounting experience required
- Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, project accounting, and revenue recognition
- Strong GAAP and full-cycle accounting knowledge
- Experience across multiple industries preferred
- Hands-on, adaptable leadership style
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- CPA and/or public accounting experience is a plus
- ERP implementation experience is highly valued
LocationMust live within reasonable commuting distance of
Sacramento, CA and be comfortable traveling to client locations as needed.
