Who you are:

We are seeking a strategic Finance Controller for a Full Time role working in an administrative setting. As a member of the finance team, the Controller provides leadership and direction to the Finance team. The Controller will:
  • Assists in the management of financial affairs of the M.A.C.T. Health Board, Inc., including contracts with funding sources and meeting all accounting and governmental standards.
  • Assists in monitoring all budgets and preparation of timely cost reports for submission to funding agencies.
  • Receive and process service, supply, and equipment requisitions for approval. Including but not limited to; obtaining competitive pricing through developed Vendor contacts. Researching all available direct purchasing manufacturers related to Government and Indian Health pricing considerations.

  • Review all purchase requisitions for accuracy as submitted in accordance with MACT Health Board, Inc. fiscal policies and procedures.

  • Maintains inventory control and purchasing software to assess items ordered, cost, delivery, product quality, current inventory levels and applicable taxes.
  • Responsible for monthly inventory reconciliation.
  • Responsible for managing facility improvements and coordinating with the Compliance Department to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
  • Under the direction of the Finance Director, assists with the preparation of regular financial reports for submission to staff and Board of Directors. In the absence of the Finance Director presents reports to committees and Board of Directors.
  • Assists in the preparation and submission of costs reports and maintenance of policies and procedures for effective financial management.
  • Identifies grant opportunities that fit MACT's needs and ability for the grantor and MACT to benefit from participation.
  • Coordinate the preparation of grant applications including maintenance of MACT active status on all appropriate governmental websites.
  • Monitor the performance of the grant and ensure that all records are current and correct.
  • Prepare grant reports as specified in grant documents.
  • Serves as Acting Director of Finance in the absence of the Director of Finance.
  • Assists in the development of financial plans and preparation of budgets for MACT Health Board, Inc.
  • Under the direction of the Finance Director, maintains internal control of all of the organization's accounts.
  • Assists the Finance Director in audit preparation including but not limited to account reconciliation.
  • Maintains accounting software for the Finance Department.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts including bank accounts.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What you need:
  • Must have a Bachelor Degree (4 years) in Accounting or Finance. Proof of extensive experience and training in accounting may be substituted for degree.
  • Must have 6 years progressive experience in accounting and at least 3 years of experience in financial management, budget formulation, and fund accounting for a governmental, non-profit or tribal organization including experience with grants.
  • Must have a working knowledge of governmental funding regulations.
  • Must possess an understanding of fund accounting.

  • Current BLS/ALS certificate
  • Must pass Occupational Health Screening.
  • Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system.
  • Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).


The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature
