The opportunity

Join Delaware North Gaming as a Controller at Hamburg Gaming in Hamburg, New York , where you'll serve as a trusted financial leader and strategic business partner. This position offers the opportunity to oversee critical accounting functions, including financial reporting, accounts payable approvals, audit compliance, cash management, and financial consolidation. You'll collaborate with property and corporate leadership to optimize processes, improve efficiencies, and help shape the financial success of one of New York's premier gaming destinations.

Pay

Minimum - Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $81,900 - $110,600 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. What will you do?
  • Manage the accounting function at the unit, including direct leadership, supervision, and effective management of unit accounting and cash room team members
  • Complete audits and ensure the team is knowledgeable of policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Execute strategies and standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and financial systems and controls
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, support the annual plan and projection process, provide insightful review of year-over-year changes, and recommend areas of focus to improve operating margins
  • Lead or assist with ad hoc analyses of the finances and prepare reports to facilitate decision-making


More about you
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA preferred
  • Experience in supervising complex accounting teams, an understanding of finance and accounting processes, and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Gaming experience a plus
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft Financials, or similar accounting software
  • Understanding how to drive effective performance management
  • Facilitation, detailed collaboration, and effective communication
  • Able to obtain a NYS gaming license
