The pay range for this position is $175,000 - $210,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and other relevant qualifications.
Position OverviewThe controller will handle high-level accounting and oversee all financial activities and reporting for the company. As head of the accounting department, the controller will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting including general ledger, payroll, tax compliance and external audits. Reports to the chief financial officer. Assists with development of internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning.
This role is a primarily on-site position Monday - Friday 8 hours/day (excluding lunch break). Overtime, weekends and holidays may be required. Flexible start time between 7:00 am - 9:00 am with a consistent schedule.
Responsibilities and Duties- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Manage cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
- Maintain and optimize NetSuite ERP system, including accounting processes, reporting, workflows, and controls.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
- Partner with Operations and leadership on manufacturing costs, pricing, customer profitability, capital expenditures, and business decisions.
- Maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and other financial compliance requirements.
- Provide timely financial reporting and analysis to the CFO, leadership team, and investors.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance/accounting team.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and financial controls as the company grows.

Requirements and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field
- 5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager experience.
- Strong hands-on NetSuite experience a plus
- Biopharma, life sciences, CDMO, or regulated manufacturing experience preferred
- Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and partner with senior leadership.
