This position reports to:Senior Contract Manager
Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the provision of contract management services within the assigned area of responsibility, ensuring that all contract management activities are executed in accordance with the relevant corporate/division/business policies and procedures, as well as the Contract Management Policy and Contract Management Framework. Each day, you will ensure that the portfolio of contracts in the business follows contract and claim management methodologies in accordance with internal standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by reviewing and commenting on commercial and technical tender terms and conditions.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions in North America.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Proposal Team & Front-End Negotiations
- Attend weekly proposal team meetings to represent the contract management perspective on commercial terms and conditions.
- Support front-end negotiations with customers and vendors on contractual language, pricing structures, payment terms, and scope definitions.
Change Order & Notices Support
- Verify change order documentation for completeness and compliance with contract procedures.
- Manage the notices process - monitor, log, and route all contractual notices (claims, delays, disputes, insurance events) to appropriate stakeholders.
Project Execution & Risk Identification
- Attend weekly Project Manager team meetings and monthly project reviews to maintain visibility on project status and emerging issues.
Claims & Entitlements Support
- Assist in preparing claim notifications, supporting documentation, and correspondence under the direction of the Senior Contract Manager. Log and track variations, delays, and events that may give rise to claims.
- Collect and organize claim-related documentation for the claims repository.
Compliance & Reporting
- Establish documentation discipline across project teams to track all risk events, scope changes, delays, and external dependencies.
- Guide Project Managers in documenting schedule impacts and customer-caused delays to create audit trails supporting back charge claims and legal defenses.
- Monitor contract compliance, track schedule deviations, preserve documentation for claim defense, and ensure subcontract requirements flow down and are met.
Supplier & Subcontract Management
- Support drafting of purchase orders and subcontracts with appropriate flow-down terms.
- Track subcontractor performance and flag issues to the Senior Contract Manager.
Qualifications for the role - BS in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in contracts, project management, and commercial roles.
- Familiarity with contract management tools and document control systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written communication skills - ability to draft clear contractual correspondence and notices.

- Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites (20%).
- Working knowledge of ABB or similar industrial/EPC project environments is a plus.
- Candidates must already have authorization to work in the US.
