Contract Specialist - Active Awards

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Contract Specialist to support the administration and management of active federal contracts throughout the acquisition lifecycle. This role focuses on contract modifications, compliance, performance monitoring, and closeout activities.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in federal acquisition regulations and experience supporting contract administration in a structured, compliance-driven environment. This is a hybrid, full-time position that works closely with Contracting Officers, program teams, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage contracts across the full lifecycle, with an emphasis on administration of active awards
  • Prepare and process contract modifications, option exercises, and administrative changes in accordance with federal acquisition regulations and internal policies
  • Maintain complete and accurate contract files to ensure compliance with audit and documentation requirements
  • Coordinate contract closeout activities, including final invoice review, property disposition, audit resolution, and documentation of final determinations
  • Resolve administrative issues with contractors and internal stakeholders, escalating complex matters as needed
  • Ensure accuracy of contract data within procurement systems and support reporting requirements related to contract status and pipeline
  • Collaborate with Contracting Officers and program teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and procedures
  • Support the development and improvement of standard operating procedures and contract management tools
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in federal contract management
  • At least 1 year of experience negotiating contract modifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Acquisition, or a related field
  • Professional certification such as FAC-C (Professional), CFCM, CPA, or CGFM

  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new acquisition topics, including specialized award types and funding mechanisms
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
