Full Job Description
Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer. The position will be based at our facility in Greenwood, SC. We are offering relocation assistance.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

The primary function of this role is to lead and support Engineering Quality initiatives across the Greenwood Medium Voltage Switchgear (MVA) Engineered-to-Order (ETO) product lines. This position is responsible for driving accountability for engineering quality, reducing engineering-related defects, and implementing proactive measures that prevent recurrence of errors. The role collaborates closely with engineering leaders, order engineering and design, manufacturing, quality, supply chain and systems support organizations to ensure engineering processes are consistently executed, quality issues are identified and resolved, corrective actions are implemented, and lessons learned are institutionalized across the product line.

The incumbent will drive the utilization of engineering quality tools and the daily/weekly/monthly operating rhythm to instill an ETO engineering quality culture, committed to a zero-defect mindset.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Driving engineering quality reviews and error prevention activities across PDCA ETO product lines.
2. Leading engineering Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities.
3. Monitoring, reporting, and improving engineering quality metrics and KPIs.
4. Managing lessons learned processes and ensuring implementation of corrective actions.
5. Facilitating daily, weekly, monthly, and executive-level quality review meetings.
6. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions
A. Lead daily engineering quality reviews to identify errors, trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for corrective action.
B. Drive accountability for engineering quality performance by partnering with engineering leaders and teams to resolve identified defects and quality concerns.
C. Lead Engineering Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations, ensuring root cause analysis is completed and corrective actions are effectively implemented and sustained.
D. Facilitate and manage the lessons learned process, ensuring corrective actions are documented, implemented, and incorporated into standards, procedures, training, and tools.
E. Monitor, analyze, and report engineering quality metrics and KPIs, including defect trends, customer escapes, rework, overdue actions, and corrective action effectiveness.
F. Escalate aging corrective actions, recurring quality issues, and business risks to engineering leadership to ensure timely resolution.
G. Lead daily, weekly, and monthly Engineering Quality Review meetings, maintaining action logs and driving closure of commitments.
H. Support and coordinate monthly Engineering Quality Board reviews, providing leadership visibility into quality performance, trends, and improvement initiatives.
I. Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Line teams to identify and implement systemic improvements that reduce engineering errors and improve process robustness.
J. Promote a culture of engineering quality, continuous improvement, and error prevention through training, communication, standardization, and sharing of best practices.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum Five (5) years of ETO order engineering, manufacturing engineering, OPEX, or quality engineering experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience facilitating root cause analysis using methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone, A3, or similar problem-solving tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering from an accredited institution
• Preference will be given toward candidates with engineering experience around Eaton's PDCA assembly products
