Full Job Description
This position is part of the Public Relations Center of Excellence unit within the Corporate Marketing & Communications Department at Public Consulting Group (PCG), which is the firm's resource for public relations leadership, strategy, expertise, and service. The role supports the planning, development, execution, and measurement of strategic public relations communications and content initiatives.

This Content Strategist role is responsible for supporting the goals, priorities, and initiatives of the company by:
• developing and implementing the company's social media strategy to support brand awareness, sentiment, social thought leadership, and marketing communications efforts.
• executing a range of content development, deployment, and measurement functions to support social media content strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and execute social media strategies and campaigns to support brand storytelling and build awareness focused on public relations, thought leadership, company mission, community, products, initiatives, business development, and other needs in coordination with department leadership
  • Administer corporate social media accounts, maintain social media calendar, and manage social media communities to optimize reach, earned growth, and organic engagement
  • Plan, create, and publish compelling content based on the company's business objectives and user needs
  • Implement best practices and respond to changing environments, technologies, and trends
  • Track and measure platform performance and sentiment, report findings, and adapt approaches to optimize online presence
  • Collaborate with department staff, leadership, and product teams
  • As needed, support efforts such as crisis communications, media relations, external partnerships, and thought leadership
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 3-4 years working in a professional communications environment with work related to content strategy and development, marketing, writing, and/or editing
  • Minimum 1-2 years direct experience in a professional social media role
  • Hands-on experience using social media platforms and third-party tools for content management and for leveraging social media data analytics to inform strategy and tactics
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and strategic content planning skills
  • Strong understanding of how to translate brand strategy and storytelling into channel-specific content
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others to complete communications projects involving multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • Experience ideating, writing, and editing website and/or blog articles in a professional environment
  • Ability to develop own ideas, take initiative, and assume responsibility
  • Ability to understand desired outcomes and independently ideate and implement strategies and tactics to achieve them
  • Ability to perform topical research to identify relevant angles and produce or upcycle related content
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience and/or interest in the public sector and government


Compensation:

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.

Range: $80,000 - $90,000
