Full Job Description
Lead and manage construction/renovation projects for the hospital's main campuses and its off-sites. Manage IHCT for Lahey systems Projects as assigned. Work directly with system COO's, VP Operations, and other Business unit leaders to develop scope, budget, and implementation plans

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
1. Comply with all Hospital policies, procedures, and the Code of Business Conduct. Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
2. Plan, coordinate, and manage construction, renovation, infrastructure, and facilities-related projects throughout the Hospital and affiliated off-site locations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
3. Serve as the primary project manager for assigned projects from initiation through closeout, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, execution, documentation, and turnover.
4. Manage and coordinate the activities of the In-House Construction Team (IHCT), contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure quality workmanship, compliance with project requirements, and adherence to Hospital policies and safety standards.
5. Conduct regular project site inspections to verify construction quality, monitor project progress, identify deficiencies, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and contract requirements.
6. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and tracking tools; monitor project performance and provide regular status updates to leadership, stakeholders, and end users.
7. Coordinate project activities with Hospital departments, end users, contractors, consultants, and Plant Operations personnel to minimize disruptions to patient care and hospital operations.
8. Review and approve project-related documentation, including shutdown requests, above-ceiling permits, and small project requests as assigned.
9. Ensure appropriate Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRA), Pre-Construction Risk Assessments (PCRA), and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) are identified, implemented, monitored, and maintained throughout the duration of assigned construction projects.
10. Participate in planning, design, and construction meetings as the Plant Operations representative, providing input on maintainability, operational impacts, infrastructure requirements, and compliance with Hospital design and engineering standards.
11. Manage IHCT personnel, including hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action in accordance with Hospital policies.
12. Promote project management best practices and continuously improve processes related to construction planning, execution, communication, and project documentation.
13. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in architecture or engineering strongly preferred or Equivalent Trade experience


Licensure, Certification & Registration:
  • Valid driver's license. Certified Healthcare Constructor Required within 1 year of hire


Experience:
  • At least 5 of experience managing construction projects in a healthcare or institutional setting.


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of construction practices, methods, materials, and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Experience managing construction and renovation projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and contractor coordination.
  • Ability to develop project budgets, prepare cost estimates, and evaluate bids, proposals, and change orders.
  • Experience reviewing and approving project-related invoices and internal chargebacks.
  • Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of healthcare construction requirements, including ILSM and ICRA/PCRA processes as applicable to project scope.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively direct contractors, vendors, and project teams.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders across the organization.


Pay Range:
$115,000.00 USD - $145,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
