Full Job Description
Overview

We're looking for an experienced Construction Manager to oversee wireless tower construction projects — including new tower builds, collocations, modifications, and equipment upgrades — from Notice to Proceed (NTP) through project closeout. This role manages tower crews and subcontractor partners in the field, ensures compliance with carrier and industry safety standards, and keeps projects on schedule and on budget across multiple active sites. Experience with Verizon Mods and NSD a plus.

Duties, Responsibilities & Other

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee wireless tower construction activities, including new builds, collocations, antenna/RRU swaps, and structural modifications
  • Manage tower crews and subcontractor partners day-to-day, including staffing, productivity, safety compliance, and quality of work across multiple concurrent job sites
  • Coordinate with site acquisition, engineering, and RF teams to ensure construction aligns with approved construction drawings (CDs) and RFDS (RF Data Sheets)
  • Serve as the primary field point of contact for carrier project managers, GCs, and tower owners on assigned sites
  • Track job costs against budget across sites, identify variances early, and report status to project and operations leadership
  • Ensure compliance with NATE, ANSI/TIA-222, OSHA, and carrier-specific safety and construction standards, including fall protection, rescue plans, and RF safety awareness
  • Verify crews maintain required certifications (Competent Climber/Rescue, OSHA 10/30, authorized climber documentation) and equipment inspections are current
  • Conduct site audits and punch-list walks to confirm construction quality and close-out readiness
  • Coordinate civil/foundation work, grounding, compound construction, and site access requirements alongside tower erection and equipment installation
  • Manage subcontractor onboarding requirements relevant to each job (COIs, safety qualification packages, MSAs)
  • Support timely close-out documentation, as-builts, structural analysis compliance, and invoicing hand-off
  • 4+ years of experience in wireless tower construction, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or construction management capacity
  • Working knowledge of tower erection, rigging, collocation, and antenna/RRU installation methods
  • Familiarity with ANSI/TIA-222 structural standards, NATE best practices, and OSHA safety requirements for tower work (including fall protection and rescue planning)
  • Ability to read/write in English and interpret construction drawings (CDs), RFDS, structural analyses, and site acquisition documentation
  • Experience managing multiple crews/subcontractors and job budgets across several active sites simultaneously
  • Comfortable coordinating both tower-erection scope and civil/foundation scope on the same project
  • Proficiency with standard office and reporting tools (Excel required; project/job tracking software a plus)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites regularly (frequent travel expected)
  • Provide your own active smart phone with the ability to install and support apps as needed for customer and KCI support.
  • Strong communication skills — comfortable interfacing directly with carriers, tower owners, GCs, and internal leadership
  • Local to the market
  • Must be able to read/write and communicate in English.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience as a Competent Climber or tower crew foreman before moving into construction management
  • Experience with DAS, small cell, or in-building wireless projects in addition to macro tower sites
  • OSHA 30 and/or NATE certification

* Essential Duties and Responsibilities are the basic job functions that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.
