Job Description

  • With high-level goals provided, leads portions of the prime project contract, including staff management.
  • Advises manager of the overall project on their portion of the overall project.
  • Implements project plan of overall project manager.
  • Implements project resource plan and manages the staffing of assigned portions of the prime project.
  • Determines and coordinates the proper staffing within the project including identification of outside resources needed (subs/vendors) and ensures procurement processes are followed.
  • Clearly communicates project deadlines, assignments and objectives to project team members.
  • Assigns work and provides direction to project staff with regard to timeliness and completion of project objectives.
  • Coaches project staff and provides feedback to staff and to project staff's supervisors on project performance; escalates any performance issues to appropriate management and human resources.
  • Identifies, quantifies, and communicates residual risk (time and cost).
  • Creates and reviews timely client billings with internal billing support.
  • Responsible for ensuring timely client payment and follows up on outstanding client invoices to obtain payment.
  • Reviews and approves subcontractor/vendor invoices to ensure timely payment to outside resources.
  • Creates project definitions, schedules, budgets and objectives for assigned portions of overall project.
  • Prepares detailed statements of work with associated work breakdown structures and gains concurrence and approval from internal and external stakeholders regarding various project aspects.
  • Assesses potential project risk and outlines risk mitigation solutions.
  • Ensures adherence to company and project management policies, procedures and practices.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Builds, maintains and manages strong client relationships.
  • Ensures client satisfaction by delivering quality, on-time project outcomes as a result of good planning and organizational skills; manages client expectations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline. 8 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

20% - 40%
Driving Requirements

An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
Heavy Equipment Operation Requirements

Heavy equipment operation and proper licensing to operate heavy equipment is a requirement of the position.
Pay Range Min

USD $120,266.00
Pay Range Max

USD $210,434.00
Additional Pay Range Information

CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate's salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
Additional Compensation

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
