Step into Your New Role  

 

Kleinfelder is seeking a Construction Inspector who is interested in joining a dynamic team and building their career in the field of construction management and engineering. This position is available in our Boston, MA office.

 

The ideal candidate brings a robust background in urban infrastructure, specifically utility work – primarily water and sewer pipeline and rehabilitation. They must demonstrate a high aptitude for identifying and resolving surface restoration conflicts, working safely, and working in a team centered environment. Additionally, proficiency in documentation of contractor operations is required to ensure alignment with engineering plans and specifications.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of Civil Engineering and Construction Methods, Materials and Equipment.
  • Responsible for interpreting plans and specifications as required to prepare, present, evaluate, monitor, and maintain project records and documents.
  • Follow and adhere to all federal and state regulations, client requirements and contracts, and company policies and procedures including but not limited to, safety, ADA requirements, or environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Associates’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field.
  • 4-10 years of related experience in construction inspection or oversight focused on utility work – primarily water and sewer pipeline and rehabilitation.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of drawings, plans, specifications, and general contract documents.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to work under unfavorable weather conditions year-round and traverse rough, steep terrain while performing duties.

Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Connecticut Wage Transparency Law.  Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $63,000 - $105,000.
