Job Description

ESN is seeking a Computer System Analyst II (DBA).

Position located on site in Chesapeake, VA.

ESN is seeking a Computer System Analyst II (DBA) to support a contract with Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), Atlantic, in Norfolk, VA. The contract to support NIWC LANT consists of Independent Validation & Verification, Operations, Sustainment, and Installation support. The Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) systems provide near real-time material-based readiness reporting to the Defense Readiness Reporting System-Navy (DRRS-N) and provides three additional primary capabilities to the Fleet including Ashore and Afloat systems. This support includes automated software testing, Scrum Master support, operating in the AWS Cloud, management of JIRA/Confluence, and project support.

Position Description:
• Design, Development, Test and Evaluate, Network Protocols, LAN administration, on UNIX and Windows based operating systems.
• Design and maintain AWS database solutions.
• Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain AWS Relational Database Service (RDS) solutions. Administer, test, and implement computer databases which may include coordinating computer database changes; implementing security measures to safeguard computer databases; and maintaining databases within an application area.
• Schedule is Monday through Friday with some weekend support required.
• Performs other duties and works schedules as assigned by management, which may include changes to duties, responsibilities, or work hours as required to meet contractual obligations, mission requirements, or the needs of the organization.

Minimum Requirements:
• Required Education: High School diploma/GED, related military experience, or trade/industrial school graduate.
• Required Certification- CompTIA Security+
  • Preferred Certification - AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. (Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Database specialty, related SQL certification, and Oracle Certified Professional)

• Three (3) years of Computerized System experience, to include: Design, Development, Test and Evaluation, Network Protocols, LAN administration fundamentals, and UNIX and Windows based operating system.
• Specific Experience- One (1) year experience designing and maintaining AWS database solutions. One (1) year experience implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining AWS Relational Database Service (RDS) solutions.
