Full Job Description
Compliance Director The Opportunity: As Director, Compliance, you will oversee an experienced team responsible for a portfolio of compliance and integrity programs and shape how Legal, Ethics & Compliance (LEC) identifies, assesses, and responds to compliance risk. You will advise the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer (CECO) and other leaders on complex matters, changing risks, and where action is needed. You will also connect specialized compliance programs across LEC that sit with different leaders, creating a shared view of compliance risk and program effectiveness while preserving each program leader's accountability and expertise. You will bring those perspectives together, challenge whether risks and issues are being addressed appropriately, and surface matters that require action across programs or leadership attention. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex compliance work, influence decisions across the business, advise executives, and evolve our approach to compliance. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required. What You'll Do: • Set priorities for the Compliance capability within LEC and advance how we identify, manage, and assess compliance risk. • Oversee a portfolio of compliance programs, including anti-corruption, third-party integrity, government contractor compliance, conflicts of interest, competition, lobbying, and related areas, with experienced program leaders providing subject-matter leadership for their programs. • Guide and challenge compliance program leaders on complex matters, changing risks, program priorities, and issues requiring action or escalation. • Lead the compliance risk assessment, using input from across Compliance, changes in the business and regulatory environment, investigations, audits, monitoring, and other evidence to identify changing exposure, gaps, and priorities. • Strengthen how compliance programs are evaluated and improved, using evidence and outcomes to identify root causes, address gaps, and improve program effectiveness. • Advise on compliance risk as the business changes, including new offerings, partnerships, acquisitions, and regulatory developments, working with Legal, business, and functional leaders to address risks early. • Maintain a connected view across Compliance, identifying shared risks and issues, challenging whether they are being appropriately addressed, and surfacing matters requiring broader action or CECO attention. • Advise the CECO and executive leadership and support Audit Committee engagement on compliance risk, program effectiveness, open issues and remediation, emerging risks, and priorities requiring leadership attention. You Have: • 10+ years of experience as an attorney advising on corporate, regulatory, government contractor, or compliance matters • Experience leading multiple compliance programs and capabilities, experienced professionals, or cross-functional initiatives • Experience advising executives on legal, regulatory, compliance, or integrity matters and their potential business impacts • Experience leading compliance risk assessments, governance, monitoring, issue management, remediation, controls, or program effectiveness • Experience with compliance areas such as anti-corruption, third-party integrity, government contracting, transactions, conflicts, competition, lobbying, or risks • JD degree • Active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar Nice If You Have: • Experience in a broad compliance leadership or a similar role in a regulated or complex organization • Experience in a publicly traded company, U.S. government contractor, or similarly regulated organization • Experience advising a CECO, General Counsel, executive leadership team, or Board or Audit Committee • Experience working in a distributed compliance model where programs have different accountable leaders • Experience influencing decisions and establishing accountability across organizational boundaries, including with teams that do not report directly to you • Knowledge of DOJ expectations, regulatory and enforcement developments, and recognized practices for effective corporate compliance programs • Ability to combine legal and compliance judgment, credible challenge, and practical business judgment • Ability to synthesize legal, regulatory, business, and program information into clear risk assessments, priorities, recommendations, and decisions Compensation Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $185,700.00 to $345,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date. Identity Statement As part of the hiring process, we will ask you to complete an identity verification process that leverages advanced biometrics and artificial intelligence to ensure authenticity and protect against identity fraud. You are expected to be on camera during interviews and assessments. We reserve the right to take your picture to verify your identity and prevent fraud.
