Full Job Description
This role has a current pay range of $115,000 - $135,000. The listed pay range represents the company's good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base rate of pay for this position at the time of this posting. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on their work location, qualifications, relevant experience, operational needs, demonstrated performance over time, and internal pay alignment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Commercial Sales Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic growth and success of Aloha's commercial, industrial, and marine fueling business channels. This position serves as the primary architect for expanding our commercial share within Hawaii.

An additional key responsibility for this role includes the management and professional development of the Aloha Sales team members. The Commercial Sales Manager acts as a strategic mentor to the sales team, providing expert training on commercial products, advanced commercial sales techniques and the development of high-impact business presentations and proposals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / FUNCTIONS:
  • Develops and executes a multi-year sales strategy targeting maritime, transportation, retail, and industrial sectors to drive volume growth in bulk fuels, DEF, and lubricants.
  • Leads Aloha's continued market growth within the Commercial fuel distribution channel.
  • Maintains a mastery of Hawaii's retail and commercial energy markets. Analyzes global and local trends - including pricing indices (OPIS/Argus) and renewable energy shifts - to maintain a dominant competitive advantage.
  • Responsible for achieving quarterly and annual sales targets across all product lines. Monitors P&L performance to ensure margin goals are met.
  • Fosters strong business relationships with existing and prospective customers. Ensures a high standard of customer centricity through timely response, frequent high-quality site visits, and a consultative "business partner" approach.
  • Continuously monitors the competitive landscape, market share data, and business intelligence to ensure Aloha remains the preferred provider for fuel, DEF, and lubricants in the region.
  • Develops high-impact marketing initiatives. Collaborates closely with Aloha's marketing support teams and local agencies to leverage brand insights and drive customer acquisition.
  • Manages and mentors direct reports through open communication, ongoing training, and proactive professional development.
  • Partners with HR Team to support recruitment, performance management, compensation and other HR-related activities within the Aloha Petroleum management and staff, ensuring alignment with Aloha's company policies and organizational culture.
  • Represents the company at leadership meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to gain market insights and build strategic alliances.
  • Ensures all sales activities align with company policy and industry regulations.


Daily Duties:
• Works with direct reports and other staff members to ensure high quality and timely service and product delivery to customers.
• Meets with vendors, business partners, and others to develop and implement joint promotional projects.
• Monitors and studies trade journals, sales journals, market fluctuations and other similar material to stay informed on current industry events and trends.
• Critically reviews and approves sale personnel's performance reports, presentations, and written proposals for commercial fuel, lubricants, and DEF accounts to ensure strategic alignment, margin integrity, and technical accuracy before final submission.
• Authors business correspondence, recommendations, and presentations for internal leadership and external business partners.
• Submits high-level proposals, RFPs, and executive summaries to internal stakeholders and external partners.

Periodic Duties:
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports covering all areas of responsibility, and other reports as required.
• Entertains customers, prospective customers, business partners and others at restaurants, sporting events, cultural and other events.
• Prepares written marketing plans for specific market segments and, on an annual basis, for the company.
• Prepares and conducts presentations and technical seminars to internal or external clients regarding specifications and standards
• Participates in meetings, trade shows, seminars, fundraisers and conventions as needed or assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledgeable about the Hawaii business environment and aware of the impact of state, national, and international events on the Hawaii market.


Education/Training:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college, with an emphasis in a business related field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and clean traffic abstract required.


Experience:
  • 5+ years sales management experience preferred.
