Job DescriptionThe Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Market Manager is responsible for leading and growing a regional commercial real estate business while maintaining strong credit quality, client satisfaction, and employee engagement. This role provides leadership to a team of Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, and support professionals and is accountable for executing business strategy, managing risk, developing talent, and delivering profitable growth. Sustains profitability and growth of the division. Provides strategic direction and leadership to pursue objectives of the division.
The CRE Market Manager serves as the senior CRE representative in the market, building and maintaining relationships with key clients, centers of influence, and internal partners while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and bank policies.
Primary Responsibilities:Business Development & Growth
- Lead the market's commercial real estate strategy and business plan.
- Drive loan, deposit, treasury management, and fee-income growth.
- Develop and maintain relationships with leading real estate developers, investors, funds, and other institutional real estate clients.
- Partner with Capital Markets, Treasury Management, Agency Lending, Wealth Management, and other internal product groups to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Identify emerging market trends, competitive dynamics, and new business opportunities.
Leadership & Talent Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Relationship Managers
- Establish performance expectations and ensure accountability for results.
- Conduct performance reviews, career development discussions, and succession planning.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
Credit & Risk Management
- Maintain strong credit quality and portfolio performance across the market.
- Ensure appropriate loan structures, risk ratings, and underwriting standards.
- Monitor portfolio trends, concentrations, and emerging risks.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory, compliance, audit, and operational risk requirements.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of commercial real estate banking experience.
- 5+ years of leadership or management experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Strong understanding of commercial lending, credit analysis, portfolio management, and risk management.
- Significant experience working with commercial real estate developers, investors, REITs, and institutional sponsors.
- Demonstrated success leading high-performing sales and credit teams.
- Strong knowledge of CRE asset classes, including multifamily, industrial, office, retail, hospitality, self-storage, and specialty property types.
- Experience presenting credit opportunities to senior credit partners and executive leadership.
- Strong strategic planning, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Location Expectations The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
