As a Commercial Manager working in the Alternative Projects Centre of Expertise (APEX) team at Pomerleau Construction, you will identify and analyze commercial risks, liabilities and opportunities associated with proposals, ongoing projects and partnership agreements. Supporting our work on large-scale building and infrastructure projects - ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion - you will have the opportunity to provide commercial support, notably in contract negotiation and administration as well as, the preparation of deliverables
What you will do
• Identify and analyze commercial risks, liabilities and opportunities in proposals, prime agreements, and partnership agreements.
• Provide support in contract negotiation and administration, as well as the preparation of requests for information, White Papers and commercial deliverables.
• Interface with internal stakeholders across various functions, including legal, technical, risk, insurance, bonding and finance..
• Access confidential information for financial review and planning, including cash flow projections and profitability analyses..
• Coordinate and participate in commercial meetings with clients.
• Help with the preparation of contractual summary documents and sensitivity analyses for internal governance processes.
• Participate in market sounding exercises with clients to help identify preferred commercial approaches for Pomerleau.
This role could be for you if you have
• Post-secondary education in Engineering, Marketing, Law, Finance or equivalent.
• 10+ years of P3, Design-Build, Collaborative contracts or related experience.
• Capacity to work in a dynamic environment, interacting with numerous teams and external stakeholders
• A solid understanding of public procurement processes and policies, as well as qualification/proposal typical requirements.
• Advanced technical skills in MS Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.
• Good reading comprehension skills, ability to discuss, negotiate and find solutions/alternatives.
