State Mechanical Services is hiring an experienced HVAC Project Manager to lead commercial mechanical construction projects across the Chicagoland market. What You'll Do
As a Commercial HVAC Project Manager, you will:
- Manage HVAC and mechanical construction projects from award through closeout
- Protect gross margin through cost control and disciplined forecasting
- Maintain accurate cost-to-complete projections
- Enforce contractual scope and structured change management
- Coordinate field supervision, subcontractors, and vendors
- Lead owner/architect/contractor (OAC) meetings
- Ensure documentation accuracy within Procore
- Reinforce jobsite safety compliance
Success means predictable project performance, strong documentation, and clean financial execution.
What You Bring
- 3-7 years of commercial HVAC or mechanical construction project management experience
- Proven ability to manage budgets and construction schedules
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, drawings, and contracts
- Experience forecasting costs and protecting project margin
- Proficiency in Procore or comparable PM systems
- Ability to manage multiple HVAC construction projects simultaneously
Union mechanical construction experience is a plus.
Compensation & Stability
Base Salary: $105,000 - $130,000, based on experience and project complexity.
