Position SummaryThe Commercial Engineer leads end-to-end operation of the brand's commercial model, ensuring strategy, workflows, systems, people, and data work together to support effective execution. You will set the standard for how the commercial organization operates, continually monitor and challenge the brand's operating model and strategic assumptions, make evidence-based recommendations, and partner with senior leaders across Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Trade & Distribution, and Finance to improve results, acting with urgency whenever brand performance is at risk.
Primary Responsibilities - Own end-to-end operations for the brand. Lead the design and completion of the commercial build and serve as the organization's authority on the strategy, workflows, systems, vendors, and data that support the brand. Define and lead the vision for commercial excellence.
- Drive operational performance - Define and own the integrated view of how the brand operates, tracking performance against goals and surfacing risks before they escalate.
- Diagnose and resolve cross-functional issues - Partner with senior functional leaders, up to and including the leadership team, to align on priorities, identify issues and root causes, and drive timely resolution, sharing accountability for outcomes and acting with urgency when commercial performance is at risk.
- Challenge and improve the operating model - Continuously question strategic assumptions and existing processes, using evidence-based analysis to recommend improvements that strengthen commercial performance. Present recommendations directly to leadership team.
- Shape strategy through business insights- Lead the research and intelligence agenda in partnership with cross-functional leaders, translating market dynamics, competitor activity, and emerging trends into actionable recommendations that inform strategic decisions and strengthen commercial performance.
- Lead without authority at scale - Direct the work of matrixed, cross-functional teams and external vendors on the highest-impact commercial initiatives, such as launch readiness and operating-model redesign, without formal direct reports.
Qualifications and Key Success Factors - Bachelor's degree required; with extensive experience in pharma/biotech commercial operations, brand management, consulting, or related commercial/strategic roles
- Recognized expertise in how commercial strategy, data, systems, workflows, and vendors come together to drive brand performance across a commercial portfolio
- Strategic, analytical problem solver who sees across functions, brings clarity to complex issues, identifies root causes, and translates evidence into actionable recommendations-following through until issues are resolved. High ownership and urgency; steps into ambiguity, challenges assumptions, and acts when performance is at risk
- Credible, collaborative influencer who can align and challenge executive and senior cross-functional leaders, including the leadership team, without relying on authority
- Curious, resilient, and constantly looking for a better way to operate and deliver results

Annualized Base Salary
$215,000-$240,000 USD
