Full Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Combustion Engineer to join our Cold Rolling Works Maintenance team in Calvert, North Mobile County, Al.

Objective: This position is responsible of but not limited to the preventive, predictive, corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting, including the combustion fuel / air ratio controls, refractory repair, and improvement projects associated with, coil annealing furnaces at the connection bay, HAPL annealing furnace in the Cold Roll Works (CRW), CAPL annealing furnace in the CRW, Boilers in the CRW courtyard.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical Engineering or similar
  • Proven Minimum 3-5 years of experience in combustion engineering
  • Controls and instrumentation experience
  • Hands-on experience with combustion system testing and diagnostics
  • Solid understanding of combustion principles
  • Proficiency in combustion analysis tools and techniques
  • Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations
  • Ability to interpret and create technical drawings and schematics
  • Combustion systems knowledge and fault finding
  • Knowledge of flow control systems such as valves, flow meters.

  • Attention to detail. Thoroughness and attention to detail are crucial for ensuring accurate operations and preventing errors.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
  • Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs, ladders and ramps) same as ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles
  • Ability to withstand exposure to elevated ambient temperature for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat
  • Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt
  • Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
  • Ability to frequently use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials
  • Ability to work in areas with strong magnetic fields
  • Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required by specific position
  • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to communicate utilizing radios, phones and/or intercom systems
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. utilizing proper lifting techniques.


Salary range: USD. 106,100-145,900 plus bonus.
