Full Job Description
Join the founding team of a creative AI advertising technology company as its technical and research leader. You will shape the technical direction and build a proprietary platform for training and evaluating AI systems that create and improve advertising content, informed by real creator and campaign data.
What You'll Do
• Set technical and research strategy, taking existing creative workflows toward a proprietary training and evaluation platform.
• Build data infrastructure connecting briefs, submissions, generation traces, human decisions, critique, and campaign outcomes.
• Develop systems to evaluate, rank, critique, generate, and improve creative work.
• Design allocation policies for campaign budgets that also support useful data collection.
• Make decisions about frontier models, fine-tuning, post-training, reinforcement learning, and original research.
• Build reliable infrastructure for creator workflows, campaigns, experimentation, model training, and inference.
• Set standards for data quality, consent, privacy, measurement, and model evaluation.
• Recruit and lead the first engineering and research team, while working directly with creators and brands.
What We're Looking For
• At least 3 years of relevant experience and hands-on experience building preference or reward models, including RLHF, ranking subjective outputs, or evaluation systems.
• Experience shipping production products, building production ML infrastructure, and owning a model, evaluation, or infrastructure program end to end.
• Background in causal inference on observational data, such as selection bias, off-policy or counterfactual evaluation, and adaptive experimentation.
• Experience with ads, marketplaces, recommenders, or ranking systems tied to business outcomes, including noisy or delayed feedback.
• Strong skills in Python and production machine learning; experience with bandits, sequential allocation, online experimentation, multimodal systems, or agents is valuable.
• Ability to recruit and lead technical talent and commit full time to an early-stage co-founder role, with an expected 6 to 7 days per week.
