Full Job Description
In this role, you'll contribute to Naval Operational Architecture (NOA), working alongside engineers and operators to deliver resilient, forward-leaning solutions in support of national defense.

About the role: PMAT is seeking a Cloud Engineer II to support the design, implementation, automation, integration, and sustainment of secure cloud, hybrid cloud, and edge-to-cloud environments for Navy and DoW mission capabilities. This role supports cloud architecture activities aligned to warfighter needs, distributed maritime operations, DevSecOps practices, Infrastructure as Code, and secure platform operations across AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, on-premises, tactical, and on-platform compute environments. The candidate will work with senior architects, engineers, cybersecurity personnel, operators, and program stakeholders to help develop scalable, secure, and mission-ready cloud solutions while supporting documentation, troubleshooting, deployment, and compliance activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the design, implementation, configuration, integration, and sustainment of secure cloud and hybrid cloud architectures aligned to warfighter needs and Navy mission objectives.
  • Assist with the development of hybrid edge-to-cloud architectures by supporting integration of edge nodes, tactical compute, on-platform systems, on-premises infrastructure, and cloud environments.
  • Support cloud architecture activities across multi-classification environments, while assisting with documentation of cross-domain and multi-level security considerations.
  • Support cloud deployments across AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, on-premises, tactical, and containerized environments by assisting with compute, storage, networking, identity, security, and monitoring configurations.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve Infrastructure as Code and automation scripts to support repeatable provisioning, configuration, deployment, monitoring, and sustainment of cloud and platform resources.
  • Support DevSecOps pipeline implementation by assisting with CI/CD workflows, automated security scanning, configuration management, container deployment, and secure software delivery practices.
  • Assist with cybersecurity and compliance activities by supporting RMF documentation, Zero Trust alignment, secure configuration, vulnerability remediation, patching, and audit-ready technical artifacts.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, developers, cybersecurity teams, operators, and program stakeholders to track tasks, document technical decisions, troubleshoot issues, and communicate status, risks, and dependencies.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, systems administration, DevOps, infrastructure automation, or related technical roles.
  • Experience supporting enterprise, cloud, hybrid cloud, containerized, or application hosting environments.
  • Experience with cloud deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, sustainment, or modernization activities.
  • Experience using scripting, automation, configuration management, or Infrastructure as Code concepts to support technical operations.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking, identity, compute, storage, security, monitoring, and infrastructure operations.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity, access control, secure configuration, system hardening, vulnerability management, and compliance support activities.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams of engineers, cybersecurity personnel, operators, program managers, and government stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to engineering, cybersecurity, program, and operational stakeholders.
