Job DescriptionClinical Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor, Night Shift, MSD/MICUUC Health is hiring a Full Time Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor for the MSD/MICU departments at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The MSD/MICU Supervisor will support the Medical Center with delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care, and according to policy and procedures.

ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor is an individual who holds a current state license to practice nursing. The Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor requires knowledge regarding operational leadership of shift including patient flow and assignment/adjustment of resources to meet dynamic changing needs throughout the shift. The Clinical RN Supervisor will actively identify opportunities for improvement in patient satisfaction, perform trials, and report back to leadership on results.
- Supervises staff assigned to their unit or center of excellence and demonstrates the ability to coach and mentor staff.
- Lead and implement operational improvement initiatives and ensure compliance via staff coaching and mentoring.
- Identifies needs for specific equipment and ensures adequate and properly functioning equipment and supplies are available for patient care.
- Ensure shift practice complies with state and federal medical laws (EMTALA, HIPAA, and House Bill 316).
- Maintain hospital-wide and department-specific nursing competencies and complete annual competencies in the required time frame.
- Collaborate with the Department Educator and/or provide for orientation and educational needs identified in the department.
- Actively involved and engaged staff in departmental performance improvement (PI) activities according to the department PI plan.
- Provides immediate counseling for staff when specific behaviors or incidents negatively affect patient care or the general work environment. Write up incidents.
QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements: - Minimum Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required
- Minimum of 2 years Critical Care/ICU Charge Nurse or Supervisor experience
- Licensed to practice in the State of Ohio
