Manager Nursing Primary Function/General Purpose of Position Assumes 24-hour responsibility for supervising and coordinating the administrative and operational activities in the assigned areas. Collaborates with ancillary and interdisciplinary teams to develop goals and objectives based on analysis of clinical data to improve patient outcomes and create a culture of excellence. Responsible for achieving targeted KPIs and identified outcomes at the unit level.
Essential Job Functions - Provides daily operational oversight, management, and clinical support to the health care team.

Licensing/Certification Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required)
BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to entering patient care setting) for BSMH locations. Required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations)
Certifications required based on the unit(s) that the leader oversees and the requirements for those specific units:
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred)
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred)
- NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program (preferred)
- TNCC Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (preferred)
- ENPC Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (preferred)
- National Board Certification Specialty (preferred)
- Nurse Executive Certification or designated specialty certification (preferred)
EducationBachelor of Science Nursing (required)
Masters of Science Nursing or Masters in Health Administration or related field (preferred for BSMH locations, required for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations)
Work Experience 3 years minimum experience as a professional nurse with demonstrated leadership capabilities (required)
1 year experience in appropriate specialty area (preferred)
Prior management/supervisory experience (preferred)

Patient Population - Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.
- Understands life span growth and development principles, assesses patient data, and tailors care according to age and specific needs as per departmental policies.
