Full Job Description
Under supervision of the senior nurse manager or director, provide clinical and administrative support to staff providing direct/indirect care to patients on a specific unit. May be called on to deliver nursing care to patients on assigned unit according to established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. Responsible to assist with daily clinical operations and assists with the, quality/safety, patient experience, financial management of the assigned unit. Assists in interviews and makes hiring decisions as required. Assigns work to and participates in the evaluation of the employees supervised. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Essential Functions

  • Assisting the Nurse Manager in overseeing daily operations of nursing unit or department.
  • Providing guidance and support to nursing staff, including mentoring and coaching.
  • Ensuring adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Participating in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of nursing staff.
  • Assisting with staff scheduling and ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Nurse Leader rounding on both patients and team members.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Monitoring patient outcomes and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Serving as a resource for nursing staff regarding clinical questions and concerns.
  • Handling patient and family complaints or issues, and resolving conflicts as needed.
  • Assisting with staff education and training programs.
  • Keeping informed of current trends, research, and best practices in nursing management and healthcare delivery.
  • Risk Management reporting.


Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience as an RN
  • Bachelor's Degree Science in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse License from FL DOH or Compact State
