Pay GradeJob DescriptionReviews, coordinates, administers, implements medication safety initiatives. Acts as a liaison representing the Department of Pharmacy in safe medication practice issues. Serves as a resource to system Pharmacy Directors and performance improvement departments on matters of medication safety and regulatory compliance.
EducationBachelors Degree Required
Masters Degree Required
Additional Educational RequirementsBS Pharmacy or Pharm D, and Master's degree (or equivalent education/experience) required. Completion of ASHP accredited residency preferred.
ExperienceThree to five (3-5) years appropriate acute care pharmacy experience
Certification & LicensuresVirginia license (or licensure eligibility) required.
Additional Certification/Licensure RequirementsCurrent and up-to-date licensure and certification. Maintains full pharmacist credentialing.
QualificationsStrong understanding of accreditation standards as they relate to medication safety management. Thorough working knowledge of pharmacy operations, processes and policies appropriate to hospital setting. Understands performance improvement mechanisms and data collection
Demonstrates strong communication, organizational and planning skills.
