Job Description

Reviews, coordinates, administers, implements medication safety initiatives. Acts as a liaison representing the Department of Pharmacy in safe medication practice issues. Serves as a resource to system Pharmacy Directors and performance improvement departments on matters of medication safety and regulatory compliance.

Education

Bachelors Degree Required

Masters Degree Required

Additional Educational Requirements

BS Pharmacy or Pharm D, and Master's degree (or equivalent education/experience) required. Completion of ASHP accredited residency preferred.

Experience

Three to five (3-5) years appropriate acute care pharmacy experience

Certification & Licensures

Virginia license (or licensure eligibility) required.

Additional Certification/Licensure Requirements

Current and up-to-date licensure and certification. Maintains full pharmacist credentialing.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of accreditation standards as they relate to medication safety management. Thorough working knowledge of pharmacy operations, processes and policies appropriate to hospital setting. Understands performance improvement mechanisms and data collection
Demonstrates strong communication, organizational and planning skills.
