Full Job Description
Position: Clinical Director

Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid; in Sacramento, occasional as needed Chico home office, virtual)

Schedule: 32-40 hours/week

Compensation: $105,000 - 120,000 annually

Role Overview

This is a Clinical Director role with operational ownership of the clinical side of the practice.

You will be responsible for ensuring that:
  • the clinical system runs smoothly
  • supervisors are aligned and supported
  • clinicians are having a consistent, supported experience
  • breakdowns are identified and addressed
  • documentation is well managed

This is a hands-on leadership role with real responsibility, not a strategy or program design position.

Core Responsibilities

Clinical Operations
  • Ensure the clinical side of the practice runs consistently and effectively across teams
  • Identify breakdowns in workflow, supervision, or clinician experience and ensure follow-through
  • Maintain alignment between clinical work and organizational systems


Supervisor Oversight
  • Oversee and support contracted clinical supervisors
  • Maintain consistency in supervision standards and expectations
  • Address patterns of drift, inconsistency, or concern
  • Provide consultation on complex or high-risk cases


Clinician Experience & Support
  • Maintain visible presence across teams and meetings
  • Support onboarding, integration, and ongoing clinician experience
  • Identify patterns impacting engagement, retention, or performance and respond appropriately


Hiring & Team Growth
  • Lead clinical hiring process in collaboration with Clinical Program Managers (CPMs)
  • Assess clinical readiness, fit, and alignment, support development
  • Support successful integration of new clinicians into teams
  • Select candidates that are both stand-out clinicians and focused on professional development and learning.


Supervision (Grounding Function)
  • Maintain a caseload of up to 6 supervisees
  • Provide weekly in-person group supervision in Sacramento


Documentation, Compliance & Revenue Integrity
  • Monitor documentation quality and ensure consistency with clinical and payer standards
  • Review documentation and submit for payment
  • Support clinicians in effectively using AI-assisted documentation tools
  • Identify documentation patterns that may lead to insurance denials or audit risk and ensure timely correction
  • Coordinate with Program Managers to address denial trends and billing issues
  • Support audit readiness across the organization


Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Work closely with Lead CPM to align clinical operations with systems and staffing
  • Provide feedback on patterns impacting clinician performance and system efficiency


Clinical Framework & Alignment

This role operates within an established clinical and organizational framework.
  • Clinical philosophy and direction are defined by executive leadership
  • The Clinical Director is responsible for operationalizing and reinforcing that framework


Our clinical lens is trauma-informed, somatically grounded, and developmentally oriented, emphasizing nervous system regulation, parts awareness, and the cultivation of dual awareness to support meaningful, sustainable change.

Meeting Expectations

  • Monthly staff meetings (one per division)
  • Biweekly supervisor support meeting
  • Biweekly licensed clinician consult group
  • Regular meetings with Lead CPM
  • Leadership meetings as necessary
  • Group supervision weekly
  • Triadic or Individual supervision


Consistent presence is a core part of the role.
