Job Description:

The Clinical Coordinator for the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Licensure Program provides leadership, coordination, and oversight of all clinical education components of the program. This role ensures high-quality clinical learning experiences that meet program outcomes, certification expectations, and accreditation and regulatory requirements. This position comes with a faculty rank and teaches 15 credits annually.

Duties/Responsibilities: Clinical Education Oversight
• Coordinate and oversee all clinical practicum experiences within the FNP program.
• Ensure clinical placements align with FNP competencies, population focus, and licensure requirements.
• Monitor student progression and performance in clinical settings in collaboration with faculty.

Clinical Site and Preceptor Management:
• Identify, develop, evaluate, and maintain clinical practice sites that support FNP educational outcomes.
• Recruit, orient, and support qualified clinical preceptors.
• Ensure preceptor qualifications, supervision, and evaluation processes meet programmatic and accreditation standards.
• Maintain ongoing communication with clinical partners to support quality improvement and relationship sustainability.

Compliance and Accreditation Support:
• Ensure clinical education meets state board of nursing requirements, national certification standards, and accreditation criteria.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, contracts, affiliation agreements, and records for audit and accreditation review.
• Contribute to self-study reports, site visit preparation, and continuous quality improvement activities related to clinical education.

Faculty Collaboration and Curriculum Support:
• Collaborate with program director and faculty to align clinical experiences with didactic curriculum and learning outcomes.
• Assist in the evaluation and enhancement of clinical curriculum and assessment strategies.
• Participate in faculty meetings, program planning, and governance activities as assigned.

Student Support and Advising:
• Provide guidance to students related to clinical placement processes, expectations, and professional conduct.
• Address clinical performance concerns and participate in remediation planning when necessary.
• Promote safe, ethical, and professional clinical practice.

Required Qualifications:
• Current, active, unencumbered Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license.
• National FNP certification (AANP or ANCC).
• Minimum of two years of clinical practice experience as an FNP.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in clinical coordination or program leadership.
• Experience with clinical affiliation agreements and preceptor development.
• Familiarity with CCNE or ACEN accreditation standards for graduate nursing programs.
• Strong organizational, communication, and partnership-building skills.
• Experience using clinical management or academic tracking systems.

Salary:

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000

(commensurate with education, experience, rank, and appointment type)
