Requirements:- 5+ years of progressive technology sales experience, with a demonstrated track record supporting Higher Education and Academic Health customers within Texas.
- Experience navigating the academic health landscape, including relationships within academic medical centers and hospital-affiliated research institutions, and familiarity with healthcare-specific technology needs such as EHR systems, clinical data interoperability, and HIPAA/HITRUST compliance.
- Familiarity with healthcare IT ecosystems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and medical device/IoT integration within hospital and clinical research settings is a plus.
- Extensive experience engaging C-suite and executive-level stakeholders (provosts, CIOs, CMOs, and other institutional leaders), leading complex, consultative, value-based sales conversations that influence long-term institutional and clinical strategy.
- Deep expertise in the Texas higher education and academic health landscape, including procurement processes, funding mechanisms, contracts, and go-to-market strategies, with the ability to advise customers on navigating complex research, grant, and clinical funding models.
- Knowledge of research computing, funding and grant-related technology investment cycles is preferred.
- Well-established executive relationships with Texas R1 research universities and/or academic health systems are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success selling complex, multi-solution technology portfolios across one or more of the following areas:
- Cybersecurity
- Networking and Infrastructure
- Cloud and Data Center
- Collaboration
- Data, Analytics, and AI
- Strong track record of uncovering enterprise-wide academic and clinical challenges, developing multi-year strategic account plans, and orchestrating cross-functional resources to deliver measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, and to build and manage strategic partner and OEM relationships.
- Executive-level communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Candidate preferably resides in Texas, ideally near a major metro area (e.g., Austin, Houston, or San Antonio).
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $90,000.00 to $135,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

Responsibilities:- Own the strategic vision and long-term growth trajectory for assigned Texas Higher Education and Academic Health accounts, developing multi-year account strategies that align with institutional and clinical priorities and budget cycles.
- Partner with academic health system leaders - CMIOs, CIOs, and clinical department heads - to modernize electronic health record (EHR) platforms, clinical data infrastructure, and interoperability between hospital and university systems.
- Advise on healthcare-specific compliance and security requirements (HIPAA, HITRUST) as part of the broader cybersecurity strategy, ensuring patient data protection across clinical and research environments.
- Diagnose complex, institution-wide academic, research, and clinical challenges, and architect enterprise-level solutions that deliver measurable, outcome-based value.
- Direct and orchestrate large, multi-stakeholder sales pursuits from strategy through close, mobilizing cross-functional teams across sales, engineering, consulting, and partner organizations to execute a unified account strategy.
- Forge strategic alliances with OEM partners and senior subject matter experts to co-develop differentiated, innovative solutions that address enterprise-wide academic and clinical priorities.
- Own the health and growth of a strategic pipeline, delivering accurate forecasting and driving disciplined opportunity and account management practices.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI, data analytics, and cloud technologies to improve clinical outcomes, telehealth delivery, and medical research capabilities within academic medical centers.
- Lead high-impact executive engagements, including briefings, workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept initiatives at WWT's ATC, to accelerate customer decision-making and deepen executive trust.
