Full Job Description
Clearance Processing Administrator, US ADC Security
Amazon's Security team is looking for a Clearance Processing Administrator to build and sustain the cleared workforce for a U.S. Government program standing up a classified AI Factory. We are obsessed with getting the right people cleared, badged, and mission-effective as fast as the rules allow, because clearance throughput is the single biggest driver of whether this program starts on time. In this role you own personnel clearance processing end to end: submitting and tracking crossover packets and SCI access requests, verifying eligibility, citizenship, and investigation currency, and coordinating adjudications and access determinations with our sponsoring security office. You will work in the trenches with personnel security, program security officers, and hiring managers to turn a 120-plus person staffing plan into people who can actually walk into the SCIF and work. If you thrive on high-volume, high-stakes personnel security, this role is for you.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
Key job responsibilities
• Submit and track clearance crossover packets and SCI access requests (e.g., via the Government clearance-submission system).
• Verify eligibility, citizenship, SSBI/CIP currency, and need-to-know prior to access.
• Coordinate with the sponsoring security office on adjudications and access determinations.
• Maintain the personnel-security database and access records, and remove access when no longer required.
A day in the life
Each day starts with the clearance queue. You triage incoming crossover packets and SCI access requests, verify eligibility, citizenship, and investigation currency, and push the cleanest cases forward first to keep throughput high. You coordinate with the sponsoring security office on adjudications and pending access determinations, chase down the one missing document holding up a start date, and update the personnel-security database so records stay audit-ready. Between submissions you partner with program security officers and hiring managers to sequence the staffing plan, flagging risks before they stall a start. By day's end, more people can walk into the SCIF.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of security-related professional experience
- Working knowledge of ICD 704, the NISPOM, and national industrial security program requirements and government directives.
- Experience with clearance systems (e.g., DISS, Scattered Castles, or agency equivalents).
- Experience leveraging existing mechanisms (e.g., templates, runbooks, evidence/records repositories) to deliver security compliance requirements across teams.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience designing or executing security compliance programs in line with national industrial security program requirements (e.g., for Amazon Dedicated Clouds or similar government programs).
- Familiarity with the applicable Government Personnel Security Instruction.
- High-volume crossover/onboarding experience.
- Experience optimizing cross-functional/cross-team processes to improve delivery of security compliance work.
- Ability to convey detailed technical and industry knowledge (written, verbal, and via diagram) to engineering, program management, and business teams, and to present to leaders up to three levels up.
