The Opportunity

We are seeking a field-driven Civil Superintendent to oversee the civil and structural components of our major electrical construction projects, including substations, Data Centers, underground distribution and transmission, and utility maintenance. In this role, you will be the driving force behind everything that happens before the first wire is pulled-from site preparation and heavy excavation to complex concrete foundations and underground duct systems. You will bridge the gap between civil earthworks and high-voltage electrical installations, ensuring our sites are built safely, on schedule, and to exact engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Management: Oversee all civil operations, including clearing, grading, excavation, drainage, and trenching for underground conduit and grounding grids.
  • Structural Oversight: Direct the pouring of concrete pads, deep foundations, and pier installations for heavy electrical equipment like transformers, steel structures, and switchgear.
  • Subcontractor & Crew Leadership: Manage self-perform field crews and specialized civil subcontractors, ensuring clear production targets and high-quality workmanship.
  • Cross-Trade Coordination: Partner closely with the Electrical Superintendent and project management teams to seamlessly sequence civil hand-offs to electrical crews.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce a zero-injury safety culture. Conduct daily toolbox talks, perform safety audits, and immediately correct on-site hazards.
  • Progress Tracking: Maintain daily logs, track material deliveries, manage equipment utilization, and look ahead at schedules to eliminate potential project bottlenecks.

Who We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Civil Superintendent or Construction Foreman in heavy industrial, utility, renewable energy, or substation construction.
  • Exceptional ability to read and interpret civil grading plans, structural concrete drawings, and electrical site layouts.
  • Must understand layout and how to calc coordinates. Trimble Robotics a must.
  • OSHA 30 certification is required; First Aid/CPR certification is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing heavy equipment operations, concrete logistics, and diverse field crews under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineers, client representatives, and trade crafts
  • Local to Pennsylvania (required) with regular travel to project/jobsite locations along with occasional travel to other offices or yard locations, trainings, customer facilities, and offsite meetings.
  • A "can-do" attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.

  • Flexibility & Autonomy: We empower our team to succeed without micromanagement.
