Full Job Description
STV's transportation practice is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Civil/Roadway Engineer to join our Roadway Design Team in Dallas, TX, with the flexibility to also be based in our Frisco office. This is a great opportunity for a motivated engineer who wants to work on meaningful transportation infrastructure, collaborate with strong technical teams, and continue growing their career in a supportive, team-oriented environment. You'll contribute to projects that improve mobility, strengthen communities, and create lasting impact across Texas and beyond.

What You'll Do
  • Design roadway and highway improvements, including highway geometrics, 3D models, drainage and stormwater management, signing and striping, erosion and sediment control, and utility coordination.
  • Support projects from planning and schematic design through PS&E and construction, applying sound engineering judgment, standards, and best practices.
  • Apply STV's quality control and quality assurance procedures to help deliver accurate, complete, and client-focused design plans.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to deliver roadway projects that meet client goals, schedules, and technical requirements.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineering staff while helping build a strong, collaborative design team.
  • Prepare plan quantities, engineering estimates, and construction specifications that support successful project delivery.
  • Provide construction-phase support, including plan reviews, responses to contractor questions, and coordination to help keep projects moving forward.
  • Assist with or lead project tracking for scope, schedule, and budget to support timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Participate in client meetings, proposal efforts, and business development activities as opportunities arise.


What You'll Bring

  • Experience with roadway design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, InRoads/GEOPAK; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  • Interest in staying engaged with the industry through professional organizations, technical learning, or community involvement.
  • Clear communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a collaborative project environment.
  • Commitment to keeping current with roadway engineering standards, regulations, and best practices.
