Full Job Description
Full-Time Civil Roadway Engineer in either our Franklin or Chattanooga, TN locations. This role is ideal for an experienced roadway engineer who is ready to take on greater technical leadership, guide complex design efforts, support public-sector clients, and mentor early-career staff while contributing to high-visibility transportation programs. We are looking for a motivated individual who wants to be part of a successful, growing practice within a firm that values integrity, determination, drive, and rewards individuals accordingly. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact with clients on a regular basis and contribute to business development efforts.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Develop highway geometrics, 3D models, drainage and storm water management, signing and striping, erosion and sediment control, and utility coordination.
  • Planning and schematic design through PS&E design and into construction while applying engineering techniques, procedures, and standards.
  • Follow through company's established quality control and quality assurance procedures to perform quality control checks and ensure design plans implement required design standards and specifications.
  • Work with a team of engineers (EITs and professionals) to successfully deliver projects while implementing client focused specifications and needs.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to technical engineering staff ranging from junior to mid-level.
  • Develop plans quantities and engineering estimates and develop construction specifications.
  • Provide construction support, including plan reviews, response to contractor when questions arise, and project progress oversight.
  • Lead or assist in tracking project progress, budgets, and schedules to ensure completion of project timely and within budget.
  • Work in a team environment and participate in business development efforts, meetings with clients, and proposal preparation as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • 5+ years' of related experience
  • PE licensure in TN or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • TDOT design experience preferred
  • Experience in design with highways, intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, and bike/ped facilities.
  • Experience or familiarity with OpenRoads Design (ORD) and/or Geopak
  • Strong inter-personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction


Compensation Range:
$94,459.48 - $107,953.69
