Compensation for this exempt position is to be commensurate according to candidate's skills and experience level.

The position offers an attractive benefit package that includes medical insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, HMO and Health Savings plan options available), dental coverage, vision coverage, life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability plans on the first of the month following the date of hire. Paid time off and 401K plan offered upon reaching eligibility.

Position Description

Essential Duties

    • Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including earthwork, utilities, concrete, site development, and roadway work.
    • Interpret plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to develop accurate quantity takeoffs.
    • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
    • Develop bid proposals, schedules, and value-engineering options.
    • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project conditions.
    • Maintain historical cost data and update estimating tools as needed.
    • Accountable for overall safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and customer satisfaction on assigned projects.
    • Establish and oversee the safety plan and enforce a strong safety culture at assigned sites.
    • Write and manage all contracts with contractors, testing companies, and design professionals.
    • Lead project kickoff, planning, and scheduling activities.
    • Coordinate with field supervisors to ensure work is executed according to plans, safety standards, and quality requirements.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
    • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress documentation.
    • Monitor project progress and proactively resolve issues related to scope, schedule, or resources.
    • Conduct regular site visits to support field operations and verify progress.
    • Oversee project closeout, including punch lists, as-built documentation, and final billing.
    • Manage monthly payment application process.
    • Manage project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and overall job profitability.
    • Supervise and mentor project job site staff.
    • Initiate and maintain relationships with prime owner contacts and architects to facilitate existing and potential construction activities.
    • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site project staff to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget; continually review all areas of work to plan the most cost-effective method of operating on all aspects of a project.


Additional Job-Related Skills

  • Experience with DOT, municipal, or large-scale site development projects.
  • Knowledge of scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Familiar with GPS machine control and survey technologies.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PE, PMP, CM-Lean) are preferred but not required.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to produce Ad Hoc financial reports promptly.
  • Ability to maneuver through various software programs simultaneously.
  • Ability to use search tools, browsers, email, attach files, scan, and fax.
