As a Civil Field Engineer, you'll play a critical role working at the intersection of design, field execution, and client collaboration. This is not a back-office role. You'll be in the field, influencing outcomes, solving real-world challenges, and driving projects from concept through construction.
Location: In the Nashville, TN area.
What You'll Do- Lead and contribute to the design and execution of facilities such as service roads, yard piping, and drainage and supporting infrastructure
- Translate engineering concepts into buildable designs, specifications, and construction documents
- Partner with Project Managers to drive project delivery-on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Analyze site data (survey reports, maps, geotechnical inputs) to inform design decisions and mitigate risk
- Perform process calculations (flows, loadings, system performance) critical to system design
- Serve as a technical point of contact for internal teams, clients, and field personnel
- Oversee and coordinate subconsultants and multidisciplinary teams
- Conduct design reviews and ensure alignment across engineering disciplines
- Support field inspections, QA/QC programs, and construction activities
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Contribute to proposals and help win exciting new projects

What You Bring- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in heavy industrial, water, or wastewater projects
- Strong knowledge of engineering codes, standards, and QA/QC practices
- Proficiency with CAD tools
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in dynamic environments
- Excellent communication skills-able to work seamlessly with clients, crews, and internal teams
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers is a plus
