HDR is looking for a Civil Engineer to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals. The successful candidate will be a part of a team that provides design support for large and small scale substation engineering projects. In the role of Civil Engineer, we'll count on you to: • Design and plan production for general civil on a wide variety of projects, including site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activities • Perform quantity calculations, stormwater calculations, develop erosion and sediment control plans • Prepare specifications and contract documents • Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures • Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed • Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this position • Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed • Performs QC reviews for work performed by junior and mid-level engineers and/or designers. • Works with senior engineers and technical leaders to identify and develop specific technical expertise and will attend training and seminars focused on further development and understanding of complex concepts related to their discipline. • Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications • 5+ years of civil design experience • Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm #LI-MJ1 Qualifications Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Engineering • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. • Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector. • Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software.
