ROLE PURPOSEThe Chief Financial Officer builds and protects the financial infrastructure that allows Impact Funeral Partners to scale through acquisition with discipline, transparency, and confidence. This role leads every financial dimension of IFP's M&A engine, from diligence and deal structure through post-close integration, while owning the planning, reporting, controls, and capital strategy of a growing multi-state, multi-location organization. The CFO is accountable for making IFP's financials credible, clean and easily reviewable.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 1. M&A, Due Diligence & Integration - Lead financial due diligence on acquisition targets: quality of earnings, normalized EBITDA, working capital, preneed trust and insurance obligations, and other financial liabilities
- Build valuation models and structure deals (purchase price, earnouts, seller notes, rollover equity) in partnership with the CEO and acquisition team
- Manage relationships with QoE providers, transaction counsel, and other deal advisors
- Own the financial integration playbook for newly acquired locations, moving accounting, banking, payroll, and reporting onto IFP standards within defined timelines
- Track post-acquisition performance against the deal model and report variances to leadership and the board
2. Capital Strategy & Investor Relations - Develop and execute the capital strategy that funds acquisition velocity, including credit facilities, equity, and seller financing
- Own relationships with lenders, investors, and the board, including covenant compliance and board financial reporting packages
- Manage cash, liquidity, and leverage so capital is available ahead of the acquisition pipeline
- Lead preparation for any audit readiness and investor-grade reporting
3. Financial Planning & Analysis - Own the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plan
- Build location-level P&Ls and dashboards that give GMs clear visibility into the drivers of their business
- Partner with the Executive Team and operations on pricing, labor, and margin improvement across the network
- Turn financial data into clear, actionable insight for the CEO and executive team
4. Accounting, Controls & Compliance - Own a timely, accurate monthly close and GAAP-compliant financial statements
- Oversee preneed trust accounting and state regulatory financial compliance across every jurisdiction IFP operates in
- Own multi-state tax strategy, compliance, and entity structure as the organization grows
- Design and maintain internal controls that scale with the network and stand up to external audit
- Oversee insurance, risk management, and treasury functions
5. Finance Team, Systems & Leadership - Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team that scales ahead of growth
- Own ERP and financial systems selection and standardize them across a network that inherits varied systems through acquisition
- Stay hands-on: comfortable building the model, reviewing the close, and getting into the details when it matters
- Serve as a strategic partner on the executive team, helping shape IFP's growth while staying grounded in its mission and values
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Previous CFO experience or similar responsibilities
- Deep experience with M&A and integration
- Strategic and hands-on financial leadership
- A desire to grow with purpose, not just manage spreadsheets
- Someone who leads by example and will help embrace and lead our culture
- Someone who thrives in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
