Job Description

Cooper Auto Group is seeking a strategically accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with operational excellence and financial discipline. The CFO will serve as a key member of the executive team providing financial leadership across the organization and overseeing centralized accounting offices in Edmond and Tulsa, OK consisting of approximately sixty employees in several functional areas of accounting, payroll, HR and Benefits. This executive leader will be responsible for maintaining a strong financial foundation, improving operational performance, managing risk, and driving growth and profitability. Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Execute the company's overall financial strategy in alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis across the organization.
  • Provide executive leadership with clear, timely, and actionable financial insights to support business decisions.
  • Oversee accounting, financial reporting, tax, audit, compliance, and other core finance functions.
  • Establish and monitor financial KPIs, performance metrics, and accountability systems.
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs for CIT, AR, AP, Recon, aged receivables, creating accountability across the organization.
  • Partner with operational leadership to improve profitability, cash flow, productivity, and overall financial performance.
  • Evaluate acquisitions, capital investments, expansion opportunities, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with lenders, financial institutions, auditors, advisors, and other external partners.
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls, financial policies, and risk-management practices are in place.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance and accounting organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, technology, and financial reporting.
  • Help shape long-term growth strategies while maintaining disciplined financial management.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the owner and executive leadership team.


Qualifications
  • Significant senior-level finance and accounting leadership experience with multi-franchise, high-volume dealership group(s).
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing finance and accounting teams.
  • Demonstrated success improving profitability and operational performance.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, financial controls.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing CITs, Recon Roll, AR, AP, Warranty, Inventory, and Profitability.
  • Strong understanding of dealership financial statements including new and used vehicle inventory, F&I, parts and fixed operations.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field. MBA and/or CPA preferred.
