Position descriptionThe Department of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology. This tenured faculty position will be at the Associate or Full Professor level.
The Division of Surgical Oncology offers a state-of-the-art approach to cancer therapy that is centered around multi-disciplinary tumor boards and integrated practice clinics and prioritizes clinical/translational research and applied basic laboratory investigations related to the etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of malignant solid tumors. Physician investigators within the division have special interest in pancreatic, breast, colon, and gastric cancers, as well as sarcoma, melanoma, and pseudomyxoma peritonei. The program is based at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center and Wadsworth Veterans Administration Medical Center and now is extending into local communities. UCLA is also home to the UCLA Surgeon-Scientist Basic Cancer Research Training Program, an NIH-funded T32 training grant that provides surgical residents with premier, multi-year mentored fellowship opportunities to pursue high-impact translational cancer research.
