Overview

Reporting to the AvePoint CFO, the Chief Data and Analytics Officeris responsible for defining and executing AvePoint's enterprise data strategy, turning trusted, unified data into a competitive advantage. This leader will modernize the company's data architecture, establish enterprise governance, and build a scalable data foundation that supports product-led growth, customer intelligence, AI initiatives, operational excellence, and executive decision making.

The CDO will serve as the enterprise executive responsible for transforming AvePoint's data into a governed, reusable, AI-ready business asset. The role owns enterprise data strategy, governance, data quality, analytics enablement, data products, and product telemetry standards, while establishing the operating model required to deliver trusted, consistent decision-making across the business.

As AvePoint continues evolving into a product-led organization, the CDO will unify disparate data sources into a trusted enterprise data ecosystem that enables self-service analytics, customer insights, product intelligence, and data-driven innovation. Working across Product, Engineering, GTM, Customer Success, Finance, People, IT, Security, and Compliance, this leader will ensure data functions as a strategic enterprise capability rather than a collection of disconnected systems.

The successful candidate combines strategic vision with deep technical expertise in modern data platforms and has a track record of building a culture where decisions are consistently informed by trusted, accessible data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and execute AvePoint's enterprise data strategy, aligning data investments with business growth, product-led growth, AI, and customer-centric decision-making.
  • Define and lead AvePoint's enterprise data operating model, establishing clear accountability across centralized data capabilities, embedded domain analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, data owners, data stewards, and executive governance forums.
  • Lead the modernization of AvePoint's data architecture, platforms, and ecosystem to create a scalable, reliable, governed, and accessible enterprise data foundation.
  • Establish enterprise data product management practices, including domain data products, certified semantic models, reusable metrics, documented lineage, business glossaries, data catalogs, quality standards, and lifecycle ownership.
  • Build and operationalize the data capabilities required to measure product adoption, customer health, retention, expansion, monetization, and overall customer value.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to define product telemetry standards, event schemas, taxonomy, experimentation datasets, usage metrics, and product-commercial data contracts that connect adoption, retention, expansion, customer value, and product roadmap decisions.
  • Partner with ELT to establish enterprise-wide data priorities, governance, quality, privacy, security, stewardship, and KPI standards that enable trusted and consistent business decision-making.
  • Deliver trusted self-service analytics, executive reporting, business intelligence, and data product capabilities that improve data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Lead the data foundation for AI, advanced analytics, automation, copilots, and agentic experiences by ensuring governed, traceable, secure, high-quality, and context-rich data is available across the enterprise.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team while fostering strong cross-functional partnerships across Product, Engineering, GTM, Finance, People, Security, Compliance, and IT.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for enterprise data initiatives, managing strategic investments, vendor relationships, and communication with executive leadership and the Board.

Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in data, analytics, engineering, or information management.
  • 7+ years leading enterprise data organizations.
  • Proven experience modernizing enterprise data architecture.
  • Experience implementing cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated success building enterprise data governance programs.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product organizations and using product analytics to drive growth.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong preference given to candidates who possess:
  • Product-led growth business model experience
  • AI/ML data platform experience
  • Customer analytics and digital product telemetry expertise
  • Experience leading enterprise transformation initiatives.
