  • Mentor and train junior team members
  • Prepare and submit government remittances like GST, PST, and HST

Joey Restaurant Group is looking for a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) to join our team in Vancouver BC.

This is a permanent, full-time position; 40 hours per week; $80,080 per year.

Job Description
DUTIES:
- Prepare and report weekly financial results and period-end financial statements with accuracy and timeliness
- Reconcile central and unit bank accounts, ensuring consistency across entities
- Maintain and reconcile gift card accounts and related transactions
- Complete balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and driving resolution
- Support the completion and accuracy of intercompany adjustments
- Partner with restaurant leaders to respond to financial and operational inquiries, providing clear and timely support
- Prepare and assist in the completion of year-end working papers and support corporate tax filings
- Contribute to the year-end external financial statement audit process
- Provide mentorship, guidance and training to junior team members
- Prepare and submit government remittances, including GST, PST, HST, and Excise Tax

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field is required
- Completion of CPA designation is required; candidates actively enrolled in the CPA program and within one year of obtaining their designation will be considered
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical capability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and provide clear financial guidance to non-financial stakeholders
- Experience in hospitality or multi-unit operations is considered an asset
- English language ability is required
