Responsibilities
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 0645-2300
No on-call, or Weekends!
Core Duties:
- Perform the full spectrum of sterile techniques, setting up surgical trays, preparing and draping patients for surgery, and assisting with post-operative dressings.
- Ensuresurgicalpacks are cleaned and packed for sterilization after every procedure, to include restockingsurgicalsupplies.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment for the patient either by active participation in the cleaning of clinical spaces, operating rooms, and medical equipment, or by guiding other personnel in the environmental maintenance.
- CertifiedSurgicalTechnologists pull supplies for next day cases, perform scrub duties forsurgicalprocedures, prepare and maintain sterile fields, anticipatesurgeon needs, handlesurgicalinstruments and supplies, and comply with sterile processing and infection control standards.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree: Certificate.
- Education: Graduate fromSurgicalTechnology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or completion of a formal training program provided by any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, or Air Force) forsurgicaltechnicians,surgicaltechnologists or operating room technicians.
- Certification: Certified as aSurgicalTechnologist (CST) from The National Board ofSurgicalTechnology andSurgicalAssisting (NBSTSA) or certified as a Tech-in-Surgery (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or possess a MilitaryOccupational Specialty (MOS) certification as asurgicaltechnician and/or operatingroom technician.
- Experience: One year of experience within the last two years as aSurgicalTechnician or Operating Room Technician.
- Minimum one year of recent OR scrub experience (within the last year)
- Knowledge of aseptic technique andsurgicalinstrumentation
- Life Support Certification: Possess a current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
Pay Scale: $42.00/hr to $49.00/hr, to be determined based on employment options, qualifications, experience, and location
